Lee Binswanger moved from Maryland to San Francisco in 1979, partly to see firsthand what was going on with the underground comix scene. In 1980, she sold 2 single-panel cartoons to the humor magazine National Lampoon, then found her way into the newly revived Wimmen's Comix in the mid-80s. She submitted work to Wimmen's up to the last issue in 1991. She also appeared in a couple of Rip Off comics and various other titles. Nowadays, she works on abstract oil paintings, watercolors, a future weekly strip about a bad boss, and dreams of being an illustrator for the New Yorker magazine.
