Gillian Allan, née Rowe, was a British journalist and comics editor. She started out on a local newspaper in Lancashire, and moved to London to work for Newnes and Pearson. While working on their romance photo-comic Marty, she met Angus Allan, a fellow comics editor and writer, whom she married in 1962. She was later on the staff of TV Century 21, and edited its spin-off Lady Penelope from 1966 to 1968. She moved into magazine journalism, where she was chief sub-editor of Woman's Own. She and Angus retired to the south of France in 1990.
