Elizabeth Starr "Betty" Cummings Hill (November 4, 1925 - September 12, 2017)[1] also credited as Elizabeth Starr and Elizabeth Sloan, was a writer for Timely Comics and the Sangor Studio during the Golden Age. She also wrote for detective and mystery pulps before moving into children's books.[2]

Life & Career[]

She was born in Lynn Haven, Florida to Raymond King and Gabrielle (Wilson) Cummings. Her father was a renowned science fiction writer (as Ray Cummings) who also wrote for comics.[3] She attended Finch Junior College and Columbia University.

In 1949, she married chemical engineer Russell Gibson Hill. They had two children, Andrea and Bradford.
